THE LOWDOWN
INTER MILAN
Simone Inzaghi has performed very well at both Lazio and Internazionale during his managerial career but he is yet to win the Serie A title as a coach. That may, and probably will, be changing this weekend, though. Inter begin this weekend with the gap down to Juventus having closed from four points down to two points after 18 matches.
Their most recent outing saw them drop points in Genoa with a 1-1 draw against Alberto Gilardino’s side. Inter have been generally magnificent as the league’s top scorers by a distance with 42 goals and the tightest defence, once again by a relative distance, letting in just eight so far. They should romp to the title.
HELLAS VERONA
After avoiding relegation last season by winning the end of season playoff against Spezia, Hellas Verona began the 2023/24 campaign with back-to-back victories. That was just the second time they had ever achieved that feat and the only other time saw them go on to win the Scudetto. That won’t be the case this time around.
In fact, they went on a 14-match winless run of form instead before eventually defeating ten-man strugglers Cagliari just before Christmas. Not buoyant by that victory, though, Verona then suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to another set of strugglers, Salernitana. Marco Baroni remains in charge but under intense pressure.
THE TEAM NEWS

HELLAS VERONA
Hellas Verona will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend’s trip to San Siro as there are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for the visitors.

THE PREDICTION
Inter are the best team in Italy at the moment. The league table can often lie or at least not produce a definitive statement or judgement but Inter, despite having just a two point lead over Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus, will be kicking themselves if they somehow don’t end up marching their way to the title. They face a Verona side that have won just one of their last 16 matches and are among the very weakest, as they were last season, in the division. A heavy and comfortable home win is to be expected.
TIP: INTER TO WIN -1 HANDICAP
