Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are going through a rebuild at the moment as they sit just inside the top-half and challenge for a top seven finish and potential European qualification. The Bergamasci have struggled for any fluency in attack this season with the one-time entertainers of European football having notched just 28 times in 17 games.
They come into this on the back of their seventh defeat of the 2023/24 Serie A campaign with a 1-0 loss to Bologna in Bologna the other day. They have been inconsistent with no control or cohesion all over the pitch as Gasperini struggles to impose his ideas on his side with this season already being viewed as a transitional campaign.
LECCE
Following promotion to the top-flight back in 2022, Lecce ended up sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table last season with an impressive return to Serie A. Despite losing their manager, Marco Baroni, over the summer, they have maintained that relatively impressive and steady form as they once again sit in mid-table.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at San Siro against Internazionale in their most recent outing, last weekend. That loss to the seeming champions-elect, Lecce had been unbeaten in their previous five matches but four of those games had resulted in draws with Lecce just about struggling to get over the line.

They are coming up against a blunt and stunted Atalanta side that, despite having notched 28 this season, have lacked much fluency. However, that means value could well be found in a backing a goal-laden game.
