Gian Piero Gasperini is becoming under major pressure as boss of Atalanta with the Bergamasci struggling for any fluency or consistency as they come into this one on the back of yet another loss. They were beaten 2-0 by a similarly inconsistent and unconvincing Torino side last weekend as they begin the match day now outside of the top seven and the European places.
The one-time free scorers of European football have managed just 21 goals in their 14 Serie A matches so far this season. They have failed to score more than one goal in a game on any of their last six matches across all competitions and there are concerns of them drifting towards the middle-of-the-table.
AC MILAN
AC Milan were always expected to challenge for the Italian title this season and they began the campaign exceptionally well before a major drift, similar to that of what they experienced in the early months of this year. The Rossoneri have returned from the November international break in much-improved form, though.
Stefano Pioli’s visitors come into this on the back of a comfortable and impressive 3-1 defeat at San Siro in their most recent outing, last weekend, to make it back-to-back victories. That victory followed on from a pivotal 1-0 win at home to Fiorentina with a first-half stoppage-time winner from Theo Hernandez in that game.
