It will be a very different Pakistan who face England at Edgbaston as the tourists try to avoid a three-game sweep in this test series.

Date/time:

Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham, England

Weather: Only day four could potentially be interrupted by rain, despite cloud cover on the first two days, but a fair bit of sunshine thereafter.

England vs Pakistan prediction

Pakistan’s response to losing a second straight test match against England was to send seven players home from the tour, calling up seven new players to replace them. Also removed from their posts were head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and assistant Umar Gul. White ball coach Mike Hesson will take over for this third test, whilst of the new players called up, Saim Ayub is arguably the most recognisable and will hope to make a positive impact on his return to the red ball squad.

England are unlikely to change too much and this leads us to once again draw attention to Ollie Robinson. The deadly accurate Sussex star has been outstanding in this series, taking 16 wickets across two tests so far. Pakistan’s batters have simply not been able to handle his nagging precision outside off-stump and in September, you’d expect more movement off the seam.

Those Pakistan fans hoping for a revitalised team and a positive result are likely to be disappointed. England remain stronger in virtually every department and with Robinson leading the charge, expect a 3-0 sweep for the hosts.

England vs Pakistan tip: England to win and Ollie Robinson to take 5+ wickets
