She now faces Jessica Pegula. The American reached yet another quarter-final after getting past Jaqueline Cristian comfortably. Pegula did not face a break point as she won 6-4 6-1 after just one hour and eight minutes.
Rybakina leads the head-to-head 5-3 and has won the last four meetings. They have already faced each other twice this year, with the two-time Grand Slam champion winning at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.
