Eintracht Frankfurt Preview: Impressive season

Under the management of Dino Toppmoller, Eintracht Frankfurt have enjoyed an impressive campaign as they seek a top four finish and UEFA Champions League qualification, despite the sale of their key man Omar Marmoush to Manchester City in the January transfer window.

Frankfurt are currently on a four-match unbeaten run of form in the Bundesliga as they come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Mainz at the MEWA Arena last weekend with Rasmus Nissen Kristensen’s strike cancelled out by Jonathan Burkardt.

St Pauli Preview: Overachievement continued

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, St Pauli had to deal with the loss of manager Fabian Hurzeler to Brighton and Hove Albion and he was replaced by Royale Union Saint-Gilloise boss Alexander Blessin and they have continued to overachieve.

Blessin is being heavily linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion but the Hamburg-based club have secured their top-flight status for next season. They did have a four-match unbeaten run of form ended by a 1-0 loss to Stuttgart at Millerntor last weekend.

Eintracht Frankfurt Team News: Couple of doubts

Eintracht Frankfurt have a few injury issues to deal with this weekend and the hosts also have some doubts, too, such as midfield duo Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe and Mario Gotze.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Trapp; Tuta, Koch, Theate; Kristensen, Skhiri, Larsson, Brown; Knauff, Bahoya; Ekitik

Unavailable: Santos (Injured), Loune (Injured), Wenig (Injured)

Questionable: Dina Ebimbe (Injured), Gotze (Injured), Matanovic (Injured)

St Pauli Team News: Couple of suspensions

Ahead of the trip to Frankfurt this weekend, St Pauli are dealing with a couple of key suspension issues such as goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj and Belgian centre-back Siebe Van Der Heyden.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Voll; Nemeth, Wahl, Stevens; Saliakas, Boukhalfa, Smith, Treu; Guilavogui, Sinani, Weisshaupt

Unavailable: Vasilj (Suspended), Van Der Heyden (Suspended), Mets (Injured), Irvine (Injured), Sands (Injured), Saad (Injured)

Questionable:

Eintracht Frankfurt vs St Pauli Prediction

Eintracht Frankfurt have been able to tactically adjust this season with the departure of Marmoush and that has allowed the already in-form Hugo Ekitike to thrive even more. They now face a St Pauli side that have very little to play for having already achieved what they set out to achieve at the start of this season and they also have a few key absentees for this one. Given that, as well as their home advantage, a comfortable Frankfurt victory seems likely.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs St Pauli Tip: Eintracht Frankfurt to win -1 handicap
