Ecuador vs Guatemala prediction

In their 18 CONMEBOL qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026, Sebastian Beccacece’s Ecuador conceded just five goals. The South Americans most recently defeated Saudi Arabia by two goals to one last week after 1-1 draws with Morocco and the Netherlands in March.

They now face a Guatemala side that most recently succumbed to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Czechia last week. The Central Americans performed well at last summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup, reaching the semi-finals, but they have won just two of their nine matches since then.

As they prepare to frustrate the likes of Germany, the Cote d’Ivoire and Curacao this summer, Ecuador should come out on top in a likely low-scoring affair in Columbus.
