East Bengal come into this one on the back of backing up a 7-0 demolition of Mohammedan by easing to a 3-1 victory against Chennaiyin, to lift them up the table to fourth ahead of this round of fixtures.

Those impressive victories leave them sitting above Bengaluru on goal difference, with their rivals having succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home to the Kerala Blasters – becoming the first team to lose to them this season after going down to ten men when 1-0 up.

Bengaluru will be immensely frustrated by that and will seek to bounce back here in a hostile atmosphere and, given the form of the hosts, it could well be an entertaining contest at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
