Derby vs Bristol City prediction

John Eustace performed extremely well with Derby County last season, but the Rams began their campaign with a 3-1 loss to Stoke City in a game in which they were the weaker of the two sides and then conceded two goals late on. In another game in which they were the weaker side, they then suffered a 5-3 loss at home to Coventry City.

Bristol City come into this one on the back of a goalless draw at home to a difficult to beat and stubborn Charlton Athletic side at Ashton Gate last weekend. They began their season with a thrilling and impressive 4-1 demolition of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane before a 2-0 victory over Milton Keynes Dons in the first round of the EFL Cup.

Derby will want to become more typically defensive and efficient having conceded eight goals in two games, and Charlton showed how to limit City last week, so a low-scoring encounter appears likely for this one.

Derby vs Bristol City tip: Under 2.5 goals
