PROSPECTS
Nathan Aspinall was largely untroubled when he won all of his three matches to qualify from Group 10. He is likely to improve on his tournament average of 91.79 from that night and will have to do if he is to come through what is a very tough looking group.

vs Jose de Sousa
N/A

vs Jesus Noguera
N/A

PROSPECTS
Jamie Hughes was in a tricky qualifying group containing the likes of Ratajski and Labanauskas and managed to win all of his three matches to progress. Topping this section will be a tougher task but he’s got the quality to be very much in contention for first place.

JOSE DE SOUSA

2020 PDC HOME TOUR
Route to the play-offs
Group 25 Winner – 6pts (+14)
(110.51) Jose de Sousa 5-0 Robert Thornton (77.41)
(84.88) Keegan Brown 0-5 Jose de Sousa (97.60)
(106.79) Jose de Sousa 5-1 Reece Robinson (92.67)

Stats

H2H
vs Nathan Aspinall
W1, L0

vs Jamie Hughes
N/A

vs Jesus Noguera
W1, L0
Last meeting: Jose de Sousa 6-2 Jesus Noguera (Oct 2019 – Players Championship)

PROSPECTS
Jose de Sousa produced an eye-catching set of performances when topping Group 25 with an average of 104.80 and his level of play on that night was no fluke having shown a similar standard on the PDC circuit on various occasions over the last year. The Portuguese ace will fear nobody and would not be a surprise qualifier.

JESUS NOGUERA

2020 PDC HOME TOUR
Route to the play-offs
Group 22 Winner – 4pts (+2)
(87.11) Ian White 3-5 Jesus Noguera (83.18)
(84.93) Jesus Noguera 5-2 James Wilson (79.87)
(83.36) Danny Noppert 5-2 Jesus Noguera (78.25)

Stats

Average – 82.16
180s – 4 (0.18 per leg)
High finish – 60

H2H
vs Nathan Aspinall
W0, L1
Last meeting: Nathan Aspinall 6-0 Jesus Noguera (Feb 2020 – Players Championship)

vs Jamie Hughes
N/A

vs Jose de Sousa
W0, L1
Last meeting: Jose de Sousa 6-2 Jesus Noguera (Oct 2019 – Players Championship)

PROSPECTS
Spain’s Jesus Noguera upset the odds to qualify from a group containing Ian White and Danny Noppert. It has to be said though that neither White nor Noppert played to anywhere near the standard of what you would normally expect and it is likely that Noguera will have to play much better to win even one of his matches in this very tough group.

THREE PICKS FROM 3 DART ANALYST

Over 9.5 legs – Nathan Aspinall vs Jamie Hughes

This is the most eagerly anticipated match of the night and we are likely to be treated to a quality contest. Each of the three previous meetings between the pair lasted over 9.5 legs and this match should follow suit.

Jose de Sousa -1.5 handicap vs Jesus Noguera

Jose de Sousa is a much more consistent performer than Noguera is and he looks capable of beating the -1.5 handicap when the pair go head-to-head in this group.

Nathan Aspinall -2.5 handicap vs Jesus Noguera

Aspinall will be determined to make a strong start to the evening against Noguera, and with tough matches against Hughes and De Sousa to follow, he can’t afford to slip up. I expect him to produce a good performance which should enable him to beat the -2.5 handicap.
