Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Sixers prediction

Since getting the better of reigning champions Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Stars haven't lived up to their initial promise, losing their following two encounters to Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers respectively. What must have been so frustrating for captain Meg Lanning was that her bowlers gave the Stars every chance of beating Perth, after restricting them to just 124 runs batting first.

However, Lanning was left with no support, top-scoring with 41 as her side was skittled out for 109 in response. It's hard to ignore such poor batting, especially with one of the early pace-setters coming to town next.

Sydney Sixers have already racked up 353 runs across just two T20 innings so far. Their key players, such as Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner, are in sparkling form, with Gardner in particular drawing attention after her magnificent 124 against Hobart earlier this month. Going into this match, the visitors are rightly favourites and should be backed to get the better of a Stars team who seem to have hit a roadblock and haven't yet found the solution.
