New Zealand vs India prediction

There's cause for optimism for New Zealand heading into the ODI series despite losing it by three games to two. The final two T20i matches saw the hosts rack up 454 runs across the two games, which ultimately led to them winning both relatively comfortably. While the 50-over format represents a different approach to batting, it still bodes well for New Zealand moving forward, with their batters finding form and Glenn Phillips continuing his monumental ball.

Another 65 runs for Phillips in the fifth T20 international saw him set a world record for the most runs by any batter in a bilateral T20 international series, with 341 runs overall. The big question for the batting all-rounder is whether this form will transition into the ODIs. India's bowlers have not had an answer for him so far on this tour and with that in mind, backing him to register another half-century is a move very much worth making, regardless of who comes out on top in the first ODI.

New Zealand vs India tip: Glenn Phillips to score 50+ runs
