Crystal Palace may have to rely on their historically strong home form in order to avoid the drop this season, and they next take on a Newcastle outfit who are becomingly increasingly difficult to predict.

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Peacock Premium

Crystal Palace Preview: Bottom three

Crystal Palace twice led against Aston Villa last weekend but were pegged back on both occasions and ultimately had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw at Villa Park, and they have still picked up just the one victory in the Premier League this season.

The Eagles are 19th in the table with only promoted side Southampton below them, and so manager Oliver Glasner will be really feeling the heat right now as he seeks to turn things around at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle Preview: False dawn?

Just when it looked like Newcastle had turned a corner with recent wins over Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, they put in a limp display in a 0-2 defeat to strugglers West Ham on Monday, leaving Magpies fans scratching their heads as to what is going on at the club.

Having said that, given the congested nature of the table right now, Eddie Howe's side are still within touching distance of the upper echelons of the table and a return to winnings ways could see them shoot up the standings, depending on other results of course.

Crystal Palace Team News: Eze & Nketiah boost

In some good news for Glasner, both Eberechi Eze and Eddie Nketiah are available and both could find themselves in the starting line-up on Saturday, although the Palace boss did state that their minutes would be managed over the coming week.

Chadi Riad, Adam Wharton and Matheus Franca are still injury absentees, while Daichi Kamada serves the second game of his three-match ban.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Doucoure, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Nketiah

Unavailable: Riad (Injured), Wharton (Injured), Kamada (Suspended), Franca (Injured)

Questionable: Holding (Out of favour)

Newcastle Team News: Burn back but doubts in midfield

Midfielders Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock are carrying minor knocks from Monday's fixture but could feature, with Sandro Tonali potentially filling in for one of them.

Dan Burn returns from suspension and is expected to displace Lloyd Kelly, who filled in against West Ham in central defence. Fellow defenders Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth remain out, while Lewis Miley is still building up his fitness.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Tonali; Joelinton, Isak, Gordon

Unavailable: Botman (Injured), Lascelles (Injured), Krafth (Injured), Miley (Fitness)

Questionable: Guimaraes (Injured), Willock (Injured)

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle Prediction

After Steve Cooper was sacked as Leicester boss earlier in the week, many are predicting that Glasner could be the next Premier League manager to be given his marching orders, and his prospects would look bleak if Palace were to lose at home to Newcastle here.

Such an outcome is a difficult one to predict though, as Newcastle have been unpredictable lately and are clearly lacking consistency in their performance levels. At a push, we'd consider backing the visitors in the draw no bet market, but this could be a fixture best avoided in the betting markets altogether.
