Nigeria have found life at the World Cup difficult so far and it’s been their lack of offense which is mainly at fault. After losing 2-0 to Spain, they were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against China. Now they simply must win vs a New Caledonia team who certainly appear to be the weakest in the tournament by far.
There’s no doubt that Nigeria will have been waiting for this opportunity. They’ve not clicked offensively but tough opposition has played a part in that. This time though, Nigeria are the stronger team and by a large margin. New Caledonia were smashed 11-0 by Spain on Thursday and have now shipped 16 Group F goals. This should be a win for Nigeria and a big one at that.
