Crystal Palace are pushing themselves back towards the top-half of the Premier League table as the Eagles now take on Everton, who enjoyed a dramatic Merseyside Derby in midweek.

Crystal Palace Preview: Eagles beginning to soar

Crystal Palace come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of League Two automatic promotion chasers Doncaster Rovers in South Yorkshire last week in the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to goals from Daniel Munoz and Justin Devenny.

Palace have moved themselves into the middle-of-the-table in the Premier League after a disappointing start to the campaign. That win last week means they have now suffered just three defeats in 16 matches across all competitions with two of those losses against Arsenal.

Everton Preview: Finishing on a high

In midweek, former Burnley defender James Tarkowski scored an emphatic volley deep into second-half stoppage-time to earn Everton a last-gasp point against league leaders Liverpool in the last ever Merseryside Derby to take place at Goodison Park.

David Moyes has returned to Goodison Park and the Toffees have immediately improved as they push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places, having collected ten points from their last four matches in the league.

Crystal Palace Team News: Eze & Sarr return

After missing out in last week's defeat of Doncaster, Palace have been able to welcome back attacking trio Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah into the squad for this one. Joel Ward is a doubt, whilst Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure will be unavailable for the rest of the campaign due to knee issues.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Lerma, Hughes, Mitchell; Eze, Sarr; Mateta

Unavailable: Riad (Injured), Doucoure (Injured)

Questionable: Ward (Injured)

Everton Team News: Doucoure suspended & Ndiaye injured

In the aftermath of the derby the other day, Mali international Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off and so he will be missing through suspension for this one. Iliman Ndiaye, enjoying an impressive run of form, was also forced off through injury in that game and David Moyes has said he is out for 'weeks'.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Lindstrom, Alcaraz, Harrison; Beto

Unavailable: Coleman (Injured), Patterson (Injured), Mangala (Injured), Doucoure (Suspended), McNeil (Injured), Ndiaye (Injured), Chermiti (Injured), Calvert-Lewin (Injured), Broja (Injured)

Questionable:

Crystal Palace vs Everton Prediction

Crystal Palace’s recent improvement is not necessarily too recent a thing and it has actually been quite sustained. They propelled themselves into the top-half of the table last season after the late-February appointment of Oliver Glasner. Everton have scored nine goals in their last three home games but remained tighter on the road when they defeated Brighton and Hove Albion in the Moyes-inspired improved run of form. Palace aren’t necessarily the highest scorers themselves so the hosts are favourites but it is expected to remain a low-scoring affair.
