Chelsea Preview: Singing the Blues

Chelsea come into this one on the back of a 4-1 demolition of Djurgarden in Stockholm during the week in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke as well as a Nicolas Jackson brace in Sweden.

The Blues have moved themselves back into the top five and the UEFA Champions League qualifying spots ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures thanks to an improved run of form with a five-match unbeaten run of form in the Premier League.

Liverpool Preview: Victorious final few

Last weekend, Liverpool were officially crowned champions of the Premier League in what is Arne Slot’s first season as the Reds demolished Tottenham Hotspur by five goals to one at Anfield, despite going a goal down early on in that game against Spurs.

The attention will now turn to the summer for Liverpool with reports suggesting of a busy summer transfer window. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah have signed new contracts on Merseyside but Trent Alexander-Arnold looks set to depart for Real Madrid.

Chelsea Team News: Couple of doubts

Both Robert Sanchez and Christopher Nkunku missed Chelsea's game against Djurgardens in midweek and both will have to be assessed ahead of this weekend with the former at least in training. They remain without the likes of Wesley Fofana, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Marc Guiu.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Jorgensen; Caicedo, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Lavia, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Madueke; Jackson

Unavailable: Fofana (Injured), Kellyman (Injured), Mudryk (Disciplinary), Guiu (Injured)

Questionable: Sanchez (Injured), Nkunku (Injured)

Liverpool Team News: Bradley still a doubt

Northern Ireland international right-back Conor Bradley is set to return to the Liverpool squad this weekend having been unavailable of late. Arne Slot has said there could be potential rotation in the final few games of the campaign. They also remain without England international defender Joe Gomez.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz

Unavailable: Gomez (Injured)

Questionable: Bradley (Fitness)

Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction

Chelsea are scraping their way through to the UEFA Champions League qualifying spots with unconvincing performances domestically but victories beginning to come as supporters remain unhappy with manager Maresca. Liverpool have perhaps felt a bit of pressure of late and that is now completely off as they go on an extended parade of themselves as champions in these final four games. It is a statistical fact that teams’ points per game rates drop off when they have already being crowned champions and siding with a grinding-it-out Chelsea side may well be the way to go for this one at the Bridge.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Tip: Double chance – Chelsea to win or draw
