Chelsea vs Barcelona prediction

Chelsea showed their class last week by beating St. Polten 0-6 in Austria, leaving them on seven points after three games played in the league phase.

Sonia Bompastor's side are unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions this season and sit second in the Women's Super League behind Man City. They most recently drew 1-1 with Liverpool on Sunday, with Alyssa Thompson scoring the Blues' only goal.

Barcelona were made to work a little harder than expected by OH Leuven last week but the three-time champions got the job done in the end, winning 3-0 to continue their perfect start to the league phase.

The Catalan giants followed that with a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday, and they are currently six points clear at the top of the Liga F table.

These two sides know each other all too well having met at the semi-final stage in each of the past three seasons, with Barcelona progressing each time. The Spanish side were emphatic 8-2 winners on aggregate last season, but given Chelsea's resilience in the current campaign, we're expecting a closer affair this time around.

Regardless of the winner, the attacking talent on show is likely to produce a fairly high-scoring game at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Barcelona tip: Over 3.5 goals
