Celta Vigo preview: Tough time of it
Under the management of former B team coach Claudio Giraldez, Celta Vigo have been largely impressive and they have earned back-to-back UEFA Europa League qualifications but it has been a tough six months or so for the Galicians.
They now come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to Cypriot champions Omonia Nicosia in the first game in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League due to a late winner scored by Jan Balkovec.
Racing Santander preview: Hammered in midweek
Following their promotion back to La Liga for the first time in 15 years, Racing Santander have been entertaining to watch this season with their six matches in the top-flight having consisted of 27 goals thus far.
However, nine of those 27 goals came in midweek as they succumbed to a 7-2 demolition at the hands of the rampant back-to-back defending champions Barcelona at Camp Nou the other day.

Legendary forward Iago Aspas sustained a thigh injury last weekend and missed the trip to Cyprus the other day – and he is once again sidelined. In 120 games, Claudio Giraldez has never named the same eleven.

Like last season, Celta have been drawing too many games at the start of this season and there are concerns that Claudio Giraldez’ magic touch is beginning to wane after finishing last season in similarly average form. They will have opportunities here against an open and proactive Racing side and so both teams scoring seems a good bet for this one in the North West of Spain.
