Bristol City vs Sheffield Utd prediction

Bristol City have former Oxford United boss Liam Manning at the helm and he has done an excellent job in charge of the Robins but they only just squeezed into the top six in the Championship the other day. They were 2-0 down at home to Preston North End but defender Ross McCrorie notched a brace to ensure they are in the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

Sheffield United went into the March international break in an excellent position to finish in the top two and the automatic promotion spots in the Championship but the Blades have collapsed in the final month of the campaign with a 1-1 draw on the final day against Blackburn Rovers at Bramall Lane making it just two victories in their last seven matches in the second-tier.

Sheffield United have been pragmatic this season rather than ideological in their style and that means they will probably approach this first-leg away from home with caution and that will perhaps even suit City as they seek to take it deep at Bramall Lane early next week.

Bristol City vs Sheffield Utd tip: Under 2.5 goals
