Brighton Preview: Soaring Seagulls
After losing 7-0 to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground to start February, pressure grew significantly on Brighton and Hove Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler from large swathes of Brighton supporters but the Seagulls have turned their form around.
As they chase UEFA competition qualification once again, they defeated Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Cup before then hammering the same opposition in the league and now come into this one on the back of a 4-0 demolition of Southampton at St Mary’s at the weekend.
Bournemouth Preview: Cherries picked off
For the first time in a few months, AFC Bournemouth come into this one on the back of a performance and a result that was legitimately disappointing and underwhelming as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers the other day.
The Cherries, with Andoni Iraola at the helm implementing an aggressive pressing style of football, remain well in contention for a top four or five spot and UEFA Champions League qualification despite that being their second defeat in their last three league games.
Brighton Team News: Dunk still out
Brighton captain Lewis Dunk has missed the last couple of matches and will once again miss the visit of Bournemouth this week. Both Joel Veltman and Danny Welbeck are also doubtful with the Seagulls' confirmed injury list also consisting of Igor Julio and James Milner.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, Van Hecke, Webster, Lamptey; Ayari, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Pedro
Unavailable: Steele (Injured), Dunk (Injured), Igor (Injured), Kadioglu (Injured), Milner (Injured)
Questionable: Veltman (Injured), Welbeck (Injured)
Bournemouth Team News: Zabarnyi suspension
One of the mitigating factors from their defeat at the weekend was the fact Bournemouth went down to ten men at 0-0 and Illya Zabarnyi will now begin his three-match suspension. Evanilson has returned ahead of schedule but was only fit enough for the bench at the weekend.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Adams, Hill, Huijsen, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouattara
Unavailable: Senesi (Injured), Zabarnyi (Suspended), Smith (Injured), Araujo (Injured), Unal (Injured)

Brighton vs Bournemouth Prediction
Brighton, as mentioned, hammered Southampton the other day and will believe they have absolutely steadied the ship as they intend to propel themselves back into the European spots in the last few months of the campaign. Bournemouth will not be too worried by their defeat to Wolves the other day but will themselves be keen to bounce back to a similar degree. Brighton’s desire for control and to dominate possession up against a Bournemouth side keen on stealing the ball high and playing with a high press means this is a good match-up for a potentially fun watch at the AMEX Stadium.
