Brighton team news: Ayari an option

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has said he is confident that Yasin Ayari will be an option for the visit of the league leaders after he recently returned to training.

However, the Seagulls do have a few other longer-term absentees, such as Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas, albeit Solly March has also returned to full fitness.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Hinshelwood, Baleba; Minteh, Gomez, Mitoma; Welbeck

Unavailable: Webster (Injured), Tzimas (Injured)

Questionable:

Arsenal team news: Positive on Rice

Mikel Arteta has said he is hopeful on Declan Rice after he picked up an injury against Chelsea, with the Arsenal boss saying he had been much better in training on Tuesday.

The Gunners are also going to have David Raya and Max Dowman fit and available for this one, while Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard are both on the 'wait and see' list for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Eze, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard

Unavailable: White (Injured), Merino (Injured)

Questionable: Rice (Injured), Odegaard (Fitness), Havertz (Fitness)

Brighton vs Arsenal prediction

Fabian Hurzeler and his Brighton and Hove Albion side have been under a lot of pressure of late but the Seagulls now come into this one on the back of much-needed back-to-back victories, having beaten Brentford by two goals to nil in west London before a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Arsenal head into this one having begun to overcome their recent wobbles in the league with a 4-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby before then defeating Chelsea by two goals to one at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend, keeping the gap between themselves and Manchester City to five points.

Arsenal have an extremely busy month as they begin to believe in the quadruple. The Gunners may well be grateful for Brighton having now earned themselves some wins of late because Hurzeler’s era down on the south coast has been plagued by complacency and inconsistency and so, weirdly, it may well be the perfect time to play Albion.

Brighton vs Arsenal tip: Arsenal to win
