Brest Preview: Overachieving Brest
Coached by former Sunderland player Eric Roy, Stade Brest have been extremely impressive. They finished third with one of the smallest budgets in Ligue 1 last season and qualified for the UEFA Champions League and still have a chance of another top-half finish this time around.
The home team come into this one on the back of back-to-back defeats, though, with their most recent loss coming at Stade Velodrome against a chaotic Olympique de Marseille side whereby they suffered a 4-1 defeat to the southerners.
Montpellier Preview: Relegated Montpellier
Montpellier Herault have been circling the drain for the last couple of seasons and they have finally now fallen through the Ligue 1 trapdoor with Armenian coach Michel Der Zakarian replaced by boyhood Montpellier supporter Jean-Louis Gasset mid-way through the season.
The visitors have managed just four victories in their 31 Ligue 1 matches this season but they do come into this one having avoided a defeat at Stade de la Mosson last weekend with a goalless draw at home to Stade de Reims.

Brest vs Montpellier Prediction
Stade Brest have been solid and defensive under the management of Eric Roy and that has allowed them to punch above their weight but they have also been able to let the handbrake off at times and that has produced some chaotic matches involving them over the last couple of seasons. They face a Montpellier side and club that are heading into a summer of uncertainty as they prepare for the second-tier and Brest should win this one quite comfortably, especially with their home advantage.
