Bologna preview: Poor win

Bologna come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie in midweek due to a goal from Ezri Konsa as well as a brace scored by England international striker Ollie Watkins.

In Serie A, they returned from the March international break by defeating a struggling Cremonese side by two goals to one with some early strikes from right-back Joao Mario and former Norwich City attacking midfielder Jonathan Rowe.

Lecce preview: In the fight

Lecce begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places in Serie A, on goal difference, under the management of Eusebio Di Francesco; who has been relegated in each of the last two seasons.

The visitors most recently succumbed to a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Atalanta at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare in Apulia last week due to goals scored by Giorgio Scalvini, Nikola Krstovic and Giacomo Raspadori.

Bologna team news: Ferguson suspended

Scotland international midfielder Lewis Ferguson is missing through suspension for this weekend, while key winger Benjamin Dominguez is now sidelined due to a hip injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Joao Mario, Vitik, Jhon Lucumi, Juan Miranda; Moro, Freuler; Bernadeschi, Sohm, Rowe; Castro

Unavailable: Skorupski (Injured), Ferguson (Suspended), Dominguez (Injured)

Questionable: Lykogiannis (Injured), Dallinga (Injured)

Lecce team news: A few doubts

Lecce head to the Renato Dall'Ara with a few doubts for this weekend as defensive duo Antonio Gallo and Kialonda Gaspar is potentially sidelined alongside Francesco Camarda and Riccardo Sottil.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Veiga, Siebert, Tiago Gabriel, Ndaba; Ramadani, Ngom; Pierotti, Fofana, Banda; Cheddira

Unavailable: Berisha (Injured)

Questionable: Gallo (Injured), Gaspar (Injured), Camarda (Injured), Sottil (Injured)

Bologna vs Lecce prediction

Bologna begin the match day sitting eight points adrift of the top seven and the European spots in Serie A. The home team have been inconsistent in this calendar year but do have a chance of returning to Europe. They now face a Lecce side that do appear to be circling the drain towards Serie B relegation and a comfortable Bologna victory is to be expected for this one in Emilio-Romagna.

Bologna vs Lecce tip: Bologna to win -1 handicap
