Birmingham vs Oxford prediction

Birmingham City started their campaign with an excellent performance in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in which they conceded a second-half stoppage-time penalty to deny the win. They then defeated Sheffield United in the first round of the EFL Cup before a dramatic late turnaround to win against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Oxford United, on the other hand, started their season with a 1-0 loss at home to Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago. The U’s then suffered a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Hull City last week due to a last-gasp Oli McBurnie winner. Oxford managed to just about survive last season following the mid-season appointment of Gary Rowett.

Underlying data led to concerns about Oxford this season and Rowett isn’t seemingly solving the problems, and a defeat to his former club seems likely at St Andrew’s.

Birmingham vs Oxford tip: Birmingham to win
