Barcelona preview: Beaten in Europe

In their most recent outing, Barcelona managed to defeat Atletico Madrid by two goals to one in the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final but the Blaugrana still managed to come out on top with a 3-2 aggregate victory.

In La Liga, the Catalans most recently hammered city rivals Espanyol by four goals to one about ten days or so ago, meaning that they have now enjoyed seven matches in the league.

Celta Vigo preview: Collapsing Celta

With fifth potentially enough for UEFA Champions League football, Celta Vigo remain in the hunt for qualification in Europe’s elite club competition but the Galicians have begun to fade of late, in both the league and in Europe.

In the UEFA Europa League, Celta were hammered comfortably by Freiburg, losing by six goals to one on aggregate. The Galicians are in very indifferent form and could do with relieving some of the pressure on impressive coach Claudio Giraldez.

Barcelona team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns with midfielder Marc Bernal remaining a doubt due to an ankle injury, while key man Raphinha remains an absentee due to a hamstring injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Joan Garcia; Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Cancelo; De Jong, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Rashford; Lewandowski

Unavailable: Christensen (Injured), Raphinha (Injured)

Questionable: Marc Bernal (Injured)

Celta Vigo team news: Nothing fresh

Like Barca, there are no fresh injuries for Celta as Miguel Roman remains sidelined with former Celtic centre-back Carl Starfelt working his way back from a back injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Radu; Alvaro Nunez, Aidoo, Marcos Alonso; Javi Rueda, Matias Vecino, Ilaix Moriba, Oscar Mingueza; Iago Aspas, Ferran Jutgla, Swedberg

Unavailable: Miguel Roman (Injured)

Questionable: Starfelt (Injured)

Barcelona vs Celta Vigo prediction

Aside from their hammering at the hands of Freiburg, Celta have also struggled domestically, too. The visitors’ 3-0 hammering at the hands of Real Oviedo about ten days or so ago means that they have now managed just two victories in their last nine matches across all competitions. A high-scoring remains expected for this one at Camp Nou, with Barcelona remaining the firm favourites in Catalonia.

Barcelona vs Celta Vigo tip: Barcelona to win & over 2.5 goals
