Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao prediction

In their opening game of the 2026-27 La Liga season the other day, Barcelona hammered Elche by five goals to nil at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero at the weekend. The Blaugrana appear set to be as relentless as ever under the management of former Bayern Munich and Germany boss Hansi Flick, who has led them to successive La Liga titles ahead of this one.

Athletic Club replaced Ernesto Valverde with former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic over the summer. His reign did not begin well the other day, though, as they succumbed to a 3-1 loss at home to Sevilla in their opener with Athletic shooting themselves in the foot quite often with glaring misses, an early red card and goalkeeping errors.

Barcelona will be expected to ease to another comfortable victory against Athletic, especially at Camp Nou, and up against an Athletic side set for further punishment.

Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao tip: Barcelona to win -1 handicap
