In the first ODI, New Zealand pulled off a surprisingly comfortable 26-run defeat of Bangladesh, with the hosts collapsing towards the end of their chase of 248. 

However, always strong at home as was the case in their 2-1 defeat of Pakistan last month, Bangladesh managed to fight back to defeat New Zealand by six wickets the other day, chasing it down in just 35.3 overs with impressive knocks from Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy, while Nahid Rana took 5-32 from his ten overs in the New Zealand batting innings.

This is a strong Bangladesh side at home that should have won the first match against an inexperienced New Zealand team and Bangladesh will be expected to get a series-edging result here in Chattogram.
