Bahia come into this one on the back of back-to-back victories in the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores against Nacional in the reverse fixture and then Atletico Nacional. Those victories have contributed to a run of just one defeat in their last 19 matches across all competitions following on from their 1-0 defeat of Botafogo at the weekend.

They now face a Nacional side that have collected just a point from their opening three matches of this season’s tournament. They did manage to defeat Cerro by four goals to nil in the Apertura of the Uruguayan Primera Division at the weekend to mean they are unbeaten in five games since that aforementioned loss to Bahia in early April.

Bahia have become difficult to beat and will fancy themselves to even challenge for the title this season and, with their home advantage, would have to be viewed as firm favourites for this one, too.
