Atletico Madrid suffered UEFA Champions League heartache on Tuesday with their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in London ensuring that they exited the continental tournament at the semi-final stage.

It will therefore be a trophy-less season for Diego Simeone's side, who are all but mathematically assured of a top-four finish in La Liga.

Celta had lost five consecutive games in all competitions ahead of last weekend's meeting with Elche, but their 3-1 victory at Estadio Abanca Balaidos put them back on track for a European spot.

It is difficult to know what to expect of Atleti here, given that they don't have a great deal to play for in the closing weeks of the season, but Simeone's competitive spirit should filter through to his players, who are more than capable of delivering a positive result against a side who have generally underperformed in recent weeks.
