Alianza Lima vs Sao Paulo prediction

Alianza Lima come into this one on the back of a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Cienciano in the Peruvian Apertura at the weekend in a game in which both Paolo Guerrero and Carlos Zambrano were sent off in quick succession in second-half stoppage-time for Alianza before Cristian Cueva then scored a late winner from the penalty spot for Cienciano.

They now face a Sao Paulo side that, under the management of Luis Zubeldia, come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Fortaleza to mean the visitors are now unbeaten in their last 11 matches across all competitions. They have collected seven points from their opening three matches of the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores group stage campaign.

The reverse fixture between these two in Brazil last month ended in a 2-2 draw with Alianza Lima fighting back from 2-0 down in the second-half. The solidity and difficult to beat nature of Sao Paulo makes them the side to side with for this one in the Peruvian capital.

Alianza Lima vs Sao Paulo tip: Double chance – Sao Paulo to win or draw
