Al Ahli vs Al Taawon prediction
Former Red Bull Salzburg boss Matthias Jaissle has overseen Al Ahli winning the 2025 AFC Champions League final. After victories against Buriram United and Al Hilal in the knockout stages last week, they then defeated Japanese J1 League outfit Kawasaki Frontale by three goals to nil in the final at King Abdullah Sports City at the weekend.
They now face an Al Taawon side that have been perennial overachievers in the Saudi Pro League of late. They have been much-improved of late, though, after AFC Cup elimination and they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table following a thrilling 4-3 defeat of bottom-of-the-table Al Raed last week.
Al Taawon will fancy their chances of taking the game to a potentially lacklustre and fatigued Al Ahli side and the likelihood for this one is an entertaining encounter for the neutral.
