Key Stats
- Zimbabwe have won only one of their last 25 World Cup qualifying matches (D10 L14). They are without a win in 13 (D6 L7), since a 3-1 home victory against Somalia in September 2019.
- Rwanda have won only two of their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches (D3 L8).
Zimbabwe vs Rwanda Prediction
The Zimbabweans come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 loss to Benin at the Alassane Ouattara Ebimpe Olympic Stadium in the neutral venue of the Ivory Coast the other day, courtesy of a 77th minute winning goal scored by former Huddersfield Town and Stade Brest striker Steve Mounie.
Rwanda have a real chance of finishing second and perhaps earning themselves a playoff berth in CAF qualification, sitting three points behind Benin and two off Nigeria. The Rwandans most recently suffered a 1-0 loss to the aforementioned unconvincing Nigerians, due to a second-half winner scored by Tolu Arokodare.
Zimbabwe do not have home advantage here, but that doesn’t really matter because the pattern of the game seems inevitable wherever it takes place and a low-scoring encounter is to be expected here.
Zimbabwe vs Rwanda Tip: Under 2.5 goals
