Zimbabwe have not played international cricket since they reached the Super 8’s of the ICC T20 World Cup in the spring. The Zimbabweans played nine Test matches in 2025 as they lost to Ireland and England in one-off games, beat Afghanistan in a one-off match, shared a 1-1 draw with Bangladesh in Zimbabwe and succumbed to two 2-0 losses against South Africa and New Zealand.
Bangladesh recently won an ODI series against Australia before a 3-0 IT20 loss to the Australians. In Test cricket, they earned some value WTC points against Pakistan in May with an impressive 2-0 victory in Test matches in Dhaka and Sylhet.
Bangladesh have some gun batters at the moment, such as Najmul Hossain Shanto and the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das – and they should have too much for the Zimbabweans in Harare.
