Yibing Wu vs Sebastian Korda prediction
Yibing Wu delighted the home crowd with a comeback victory over Adrian Mannarino in the first-round of the Hangzhou Open. Mannarino headed into this match on the back of strong form, having got through to the fourth-round of Cincinnati and the US Open. He took the first set, but Wu fought back and despite being broken when serving for the match at 5-4, broke again straight after to win 3-6 7-6 7-5 after two hours and 51 minutes.
He will now face Sebastian Korda in the next round. Korda booked his place in the round-of-16 with a hard-fought win over Australia’s Adam Walton. Walton served for the first set at 5-4 but Korda hit back with two breaks of his own to flip the set entirely. He then broke in the eighth game of the second and served it out to win 7-5 6-3. Korda’s recent struggles with injury have seen his ranking drop to 79 and he will hope for a strong end to the year.
Wu will receive great support again and could trouble Korda at times, but the American’s solid, consistent game makes him a strong favourite.
