Iga Swiatek vs Maja Chwalinska prediction
Iga Swiatek booked her place in the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open after a straight sets win over Ann Li. The former world number one won 6-4 6-1 after just one hour and 33 minutes. Swiatek is yet to drop a set at the event. She became the fourth player since 2009, and the only active player, to reach the last four of all 10 current WTA 1000 events. The six-time major champion is seeking a second title of the campaign, following success at the Canadian Open.
She will face Maja Chwalinska for a place in the final. The Roland Garros finalist continued her best ever run at a WTA 1000 event after overcoming Maria Sakkari in three sets. Chwalinska raced clear in the first, but Sakkari would go on to level the match. The 25-year-old broke in the 12th game of the decider to claim a 6-0 3-6 7-5 victory.
Chwalinska has performed brilliantly across this event, but Swiatek has to be viewed as a firm favourite to win this match.
