Rafael Jodar vs Casper Ruud prediction

Rafael Jodar recovered from a set down for the third match running at the Shanghai Masters as he beat Botic van de Zandschulp. Jodar fell behind early on but recovered to win 6-7 (4) 6-4 6-2 after two hours and 30 minutes. He is now through to the quarter-finals of a Masters 1000 event for the fourth time this season. Jodar has also defeated Thiago Agustin Tirante and Jiri Lehecka.

He will now face Casper Ruud. The Norwegian moved into the last eight in Shanghai for the first time in his career after Felix Auger-Aliassime was forced to retire in the first set of their match. Ruud was leading 5-2. He has won three matches in a row for the first time since Roland Garros at the end of May.

Ruud has been one of the most impressive players of the tournament so far, but Jodar has shown his fighting qualities to remain in the main draw. This has the makings of another competitive encounter.
