Yannick Hanfmann vs Max Schoenhaus prediction
Yannick Hanfmann last competed in Rome, winning his opening match against Hubert Hurkacz but then losing to Luciano Darderi in straight sets. Hanfmann was also beaten by Darderi in the final of the Chile Open earlier this year, which was the German’s best result of the season so far. The 34-year-old is ranked just inside the top 60 of the world rankings.
He faces Max Schoenhaus, who qualified for this event following an impressive victory over Marcos Giron in the second stage. The German is just 18 years old, and he will be making his ATP main draw debut. Last week, Schoenhaus advanced to the quarter-finals of a Challenger tournament in Francavilla, losing to August Holmgren in three sets.
Schoenhaus is clearly a talent, but this is likely to be a step up as he prepares for the biggest match of his young career so far. Hanfmann has enough experience to get the job done.
