Xinyu Wang vs Eva Lys prediction

Xinyu Wang dropped down to compete in a 125 event in Parma last time out, but despite being the second seed, could only make  the quarter-finals before a heavy defeat to Victoria Mboko. Her other events on clay have been disappointing as she lost in the first-round of both the Italian and Madrid Opens. 

Eva Lys won both of her qualifying matches to enter the main draw. Her form has dropped off after the phenomenal run from the qualifiers to the fourth-round of the Australian Open in January. The German’s most recent outings saw her reach the second-round in Madrid and Rome but she has failed to make any kind of breakthrough over the last month or so.

This is a difficult one to call as neither have had the most inspiring of campaigns on the clay. Wang does have a few wins under her belt after competing in Parma and is ranked twenty places above Lys in the rankings. We think she will just edge by to make the second-round.
