If you can have a relegation six-pointer in mid-September then this clash falls into that category as Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Leeds United to Molineux this week.

Wolves preview: Issues for Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly set to hand a contract to manager Vitor Pereira, despite the fact that Wolves have suffered four defeats from four so far this season after what was a difficult summer transfer window.

Wolves were improved in their most recent outing against Newcastle United at St James’ Park, but they again suffered a 1-0 loss due to a 29th minute Nick Woltemade header, leaving Wolves as the only pointless team in the Premier League.

Leeds preview: Steady Leeds

Following their promotion to the Premier League last season, Leeds United dismissed reports that Daniel Farke was still set to be sacked. Despite that vote of confidence, there does still feel like there is a lot of pressure on the former Norwich City boss.

Leeds had only lost to Arsenal so far this season before last weekend’s heartache at Craven Cottage. In a tight game that was about to see Leeds secure a point against Fulham, they then conceded a 94th minute Gabriel Gudmundsson own goal to lose.

Wolves team news: Strand Larsen to return

In his pre-match press conference, Vitor Pereira has confirmed that Jorgen Strand Larsen has returned to training this week and he is hopeful the forward will be available, but it won't be for the whole game.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Johnstone; Agbadou, Mosquera, Toti; H. Bueno, Andre, J. Gomes, Krejci, R. Gomes; Arokodare, Hwang

Unavailable: Chiwone (Injured)

Questionable: Sa (Illness), Hoever (Injured)

Leeds team news: Doubts over Gnonto and James

According to Daniel Farke, attacking duo Daniel James and Willy Gnonto are both deemed as 'major doubts' for the visitors this weekend, as they get set to be forced into a reshuffle at Molineux.

It has also been confirmed that summer signing Lucas Perri remains sidelined through injury and so former Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow will remain in his place.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Longstaff, Ampadu, Stach; Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin, Okafor

Unavailable: Perri (Injured)

Questionable: James (Injured), Gnonto (Injured), Piroe (Injured)

Wolves vs Leeds prediction

Home advantage and their woeful start will add immense pressure to a game that Wolves now simply have to win, especially with a small section of the fanbase beginning to question Pereira. Leeds have proved themselves difficult to beat and score against, keeping clean sheets against Everton and Newcastle before that loss to Fulham. Given that, and Wolves’ issues going forward, siding with Leeds may well be a reasonable bet.

Wolves vs Leeds tip: Double chance – Leeds to win or draw
