Wolves Preview: Winning streak ended

In mid-December, Wolverhampton Wanderers sacked Gary O’Neil and replaced him with former Porto boss Vitor Pereira and their form has been excellent ever since then as they propel themselves away from the bottom three and into the middle-of-the-table.

Wolves were on a six-match winning streak before a slender 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend with Belgium international attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne scoring in the first-half for the Cityzens.

Brighton Preview: Pushing for Europe

Under the management of the youngest ever permanent Premier League coach Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton and Hove Albion head into the final three games of the 2024/25 season sitting just outside of the top eight or nine and the European qualification spots.

The Seagulls pulled off a late turnaround to defeat West Ham United by three goals to two a couple of weeks ago before then being denied all three points against Newcastle United last weekend due to a late penalty scored by Sweden international Alexander Isak.

Wolves Team News: Strand Larsen a doubt

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has confirmed that Jorgen Strand Larsen has returned to training this week but it is unclear as to whether he will be ready to play. Hwang Hee-chan is managing a ‘small problem’ so is a doubt.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Sa; Doherty, Agbadou, Toti; Semedo, J. Gomes, Andre, Ait-Nouri; Munetsi, Bellegarde; Cunha

Unavailable: Johnstone (Injured), Mosquera (Injured), Chiwone (Injured), Gonzalez (Injured), Kalajdzic (Injured)

Questionable: Strand Larsen (Injured), Hwang (Injured)

Brighton Team News: Couple of doubts

Japan international Kaoru Mitoma is expected to return to action this weekend but Solly March has been dealt another injury blow and is out for the rest of the campaign. Joao Pedro is serving the last of this three-match suspension.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Estupinan; Baleba, Hinshelwood; Minteh, O’Riley, Adingra; Welbeck

Unavailable: Kadioglu (Injured), Milner (Injured), Rutter (Injured), March (Injured), Pedro (Suspended)

Questionable:

Wolves vs Brighton Prediction

Wolverhampton Wanderers have, as mentioned, been majorly improved in the last few months and even in defeat to Manchester City last weekend, they had their moments and chances to score, whilst making it very difficult for their opposition to play against them. Brighton have been stodgy at times this season and supporters have grown frustrated with Hurzeler so siding with Pereira’s belligerent Wolves may well be the way to go for this one at Molineux.

Wolves vs Brighton Tip: Double chance – Wolves to win or draw
