Wolfsburg vs Union Berlin prediction

The signs are that we could be in for an entertaining battle between two teams who really need the three points. An awful dip in form for Wolfsburg leaves them hovering dangerously above the bottom three with just one point gained across their last four Bundesliga fixtures and it’s a single point that is keeping them above 16th-placed Heidenheim.

Union Berlin will be without experienced midfield general Sami Khedira for this game, hardly ideal when considering that they have won only one of their last five in the league. It was lowly Heidenheim who defeated Union last time out, doing so by two goals to one in the German capital, much to the frustration of the home fans.

Playing away from home may work in Union’s favour and give them some more freedom to express themselves, particularly when going forward. As for Wolfsburg, they need to attack, get the crowd onside and play with intensity. Whilst the game could go either way, it’s worth backing over 2.5 goals to be scored.

Wolfsburg vs Union Berlin tip: Over 2.5 goals
