Wigan vs Wrexham prediction

Wigan Athletic decided to part company with Shaun Maloney just over a month ago and he was replaced by former Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe. Lowe has overseen the Latics’ last four games whereby they have drawn three and lost one, which involved a 92nd minute winner scored by local rivals Bolton Wanderers to end a ten-year unbeaten streak against the Trotters.

Wrexham, with former Bolton coach Phil Parkinson at the helm, are then ‘Hollywood club’ of the EFL with their ownership group of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. They have propelled themselves from the National League to the cusp of the second-tier as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting three points clear of third place Wycombe Wanderers.

Wrexham appear to just about be grinding themselves clear of Wycombe in typical Parkinson fashion and this is unlikely to be a thriller for the neutral with the visitors the favourites.

Wigan vs Wrexham tip: Wrexham to win & under 3.5 goals
