West Ham United are showing real fight in the Premier League relegation battle as they now welcome out of form Manchester City to the London Stadium on Saturday night.

West Ham preview: In the fight under the lights

Nuno Espirito Santo, almost out of nowhere, has discovered some form in charge of West Ham United as they begin the match day now sitting just behind Nottingham Forest on goal difference and a point behind Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers’ penalty shootout victory over Brentford in the fifth round of the FA Cup last weekend means that they have now suffered just two defeats in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Man City preview: Stumbling City

Manchester City dropped points against Nottingham Forest about ten days or so ago, leaving Arsenal now seven points clear at the top-of-the-table in the Premier League before then having to come from behind to beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup.

In the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 contest against a struggling Real Madrid side at the Bernabeu in midweek, a first-half Fede Valverde hat-trick gave Los Blancos a 3-0 victory in the Spanish capital city.

West Ham team news: Summerville out

Frustratingly for the Irons, key man and in-form Crysencio Summerville is now sidelined for West Ham this weekend and will have to be assessed on a day-to-day basis after this one.

Oliver Scarles and Adama Traore are both fully fit and available, while tenacious midfielder Freddie Potts has also returned from suspension.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf; Magassa, Fernandes; Bowen, Soucek, Pablo; Castellanos

Unavailable: Fabianski (Injured), Summerville (Injured)

Man City team news: Haaland fit

After another poor performance against Real Madrid the other day, the Premier League's top scorer Erling Haaland has had it confirmed by Pep Guardiola that he is fit for this one.

Guardiola has said he will make changes for this one ahead of the second-leg. Croatia international duo Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic are sidelined, while Rico Lewis is a doubt, too.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Ait-Nouri; Gonzalez; Foden, Silva, Cherki, Marmoush; Haaland

Unavailable: Gvardiol (Injured), Kovacic (Fitness)

Questionable: Lewis (Injured)

West Ham vs Man City prediction

Ever since their lowest moment, a 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest in early January, West Ham have been resurgent and now look likelier to stay up than the likes of Forest and even Spurs, while Leeds United aren’t too far away either. City will believe the tie against Madrid remains alive and they have to prioritise that to an extent and that should leave them even more fallible than they often have been this season in a potentially fun watch for the neutral in London.
