The prediction

Undoubtedly one of the weaker teams in the AFL, West Coast will nevertheless be circling this contest as one they could potentially win, as they look to improve upon their solitary victory in last year's dismal campaign.

Their season-opener last week was a familiar tale of being outclassed though, with Gold Coast superior in all departments.

North Melbourne have been in the doldrums for a number of years but they did kick off their season with a pleasing triumph over a tactically naive Port Adelaide, and that will be seen as something to build on.

It's fair to say that North Melbourne have been handed a fairly favourable fixture run to start the season, and we fancy them to go 2-0 here against a West Coast outfit lacking in quality.
