The prediction
Melbourne come into this one on the back of finishing their regular season with a 21-point defeat to the out of form the Western Bulldogs last weekend. That ended what was a three-match winning streak for the Victorians.
Carlton started the season with issues on and off the pitch but the departure of coach Michael Voss then led to them propelling themselves up the table and into the top ten and the play-off places.
Carlton even went on to hammer runaway league winners Fremantle last weekend and they should well be the team to be sided with given their form and momentum from recent months.
