The prediction
Despite generally struggling against the top sides in the regular season, Sydney raised their game in their qualifying final contest with Brisbane Lions two weeks ago, defeating the back-to-back premiers by a comfortable margin of 53 points.
Combined with their excellent form late in the regular season, the Swans have now won their last six matches and enter this contest with a fair degree of optimism.
Minor premier Fremantle were staring in the face of a straight-sets exit against Geelong at Optus Stadium last week, but they managed to hold off the Cats in a pulsating encounter. Luke Jackson was particularly instrumental in the Dockers' 14-point victory, registering 25 disposals in a standout performance.
Sydney's form is difficult to ignore but Fremantle have been the standout team over the course of the whole season and we see them edging this one.
