The prediction
Some excellent late-season form took Geelong to fifth in the table, and direct passage into this qualifying final. The experienced Cats won their final six games of the regular season campaign by an average of 35 points, and confidence is high in the camp ahead of this contest.
Carlton are riding a crest of a wave themselves though, going unbeaten in their last five regular season matches before overcoming Melbourne by 19 points in the wildcard round last week.
These two sides contested a close match at the MCG in Round 12, with Carlton edging the affair by just four points. Indeed, the Blues have won four of the last five encounters between the sides and have something of a psychological edge in that respect.
However, the Cats should possess enough experience and guile to rise to the occasion when it matters most. They are coming into this contest at the MCG the fresher of the two given that they weren't involved last week, and we're tipping them to advance.
