Villarreal vs Getafe prediction
An Alberto Moleiro brace - his second coming in the 95th minute - earned Villarreal a dramatic 2-3 win over Real Sociedad last time out, giving Marcelino Garcia Toral's side their fifth successive La Liga victory.
More recently, they overcame the brave challenge of CA Antoniano in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, defeating the fourth tier side 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Getafe, once again punching above their weight this season, responded to back-to-back league defeats with a 1-0 success over Elche last weekend, and followed that with a dramatic come-from-behind win over Navalcarnero in the Copa del Rey, getting the job done in extra-time against the minnows.
Villarreal’s recent form and superior squad depth of course makes them the favourites here, but Getafe are a side who can never be underestimated. Expect the visitors to keep this one tight, which could result in a low-scoring encounter at Estadio de la Ceramica.
