In Belgrade last week, Crvena Zvezda eased to a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Viktoria Plzen in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off round tie with a brace of goals scored by Mirko Ivanic before a late penalty from 35-year-old midfielder Aleksandar Katai.
Viktoria Plzen have struggled at the start of the Czech First League season with one win, two draws and a defeat – conceding 11 goals in those four matches. Crvena Zvezda lost to Hapoel Be’er Sheva in third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after hammering Northern Irish champions Larne by nine goals to nil on aggregate.
Home advantage may help Viktoria here but their poor form, especially defensively, would suggest Crvena Zvezda will come out on top once again here.
