Valentin Vacherot vs Alex de Minaur prediction
Valentin Vacherot became the first Monegasque player to reach the quarter-finals of their home event as he beat Hubert Hurkacz in three sets. Vacherot made a great start as he went 4-0 up, but Hurkacz reeled off four games in a row to level up the set, and he went in front after winning it on a tiebreak. Vacherot was not broken on serve for the remainder of the match as he came from behind to win 6-7 (4) 6-3 6-4.
Alex de Minaur is his next opponent in the last eight. The Australian was tested by Alexander Blockx but came through in straight sets. De Minaur was 4-2 down in the first set but won five of the next six games to take the lead. The second set went on serve, with De Minaur edging ahead in the tiebreak to claim a 7-5 7-6 (4) win. This is the third straight year that he has reached the quarter-finals.
Vacherot has already been tested at this event, and he may not have much left in the tank. De Minaur should be able to outlast him.
